Welcome to my place of expression! This is a place where I come to share the things I love and to share my experiences, and my journey, out there in this big beautiful world.
My name is James. I am originally from Perth in Western Australia but I am currently living, travelling, in the UK. I have been here in the UK for a little over 4 years at the time of writing and I have had some awesome adventures, met amazing people and learnt a lot about myself. More importantly I think I have learnt to really appreciate the world around me, different cultures, backgrounds, values, beliefs etc, they all help to form and shape this beautifully diverse, but inter-connected, world we inhabit.
I believe that there is enough love, joy and beauty in the world for everyone but too many people are living in the white noise to really take the time to stop and notice. Distracted by their day-to-day lives, working, television, the media etc, these people are not living, merely existing. All too often I meet people who are working in jobs that they detest, simply to pay the bills; their lives are on autopilot! They get up every morning, go through the same routine, go to to work, come home, watch tv, go to bed and repeat; these people are often miserable but just can’t seem to find a way out. There is a way and that is what I hope to share with everyone who visits my blog.
I want to show people that mixing things up a little will not make your universe collapse, it will do quite the opposite. Take a chance once in a while, do something a little crazy and choose to live rather that existing. You never know what opportunities may come your way by simply putting yourself out there and doing something new.
I love to travel and see new places, meet new & interesting people and take chances. Some of the best times I have had have been completely unplanned, and I just went with it. I think that it is times like that when you really start to learn more about who you are and really live in the moment, not worrying about what is coming next; just knowing that whatever does come along, you can take it. A positive attitude and the faith that no matter what happens ‘you will be OK!’ seriously have a huge impact on your life and your experience.
Life happens in the moment
A Change in the Wind
Admittedly, over the last 4-5 months, I have fallen in to much the same trap that most people do, a comfortable, easily-repeatable routine so this blog is a concious decision to break out of it and get back to the living I used to do. I used to chase and cherish what I called ‘firsts’. It’s nothing complicated, it just means doing something for the first time. Firsts are incredibly important as it is a progression, something new and exciting. Sometimes these firsts take a bit of courage, they require you to step out of your comfort zone and push yourself to a new level.
I will start to chase those firsts again and I will be documenting them here, as well as sharing some of my past firsts and experiences.

The beauty of the internet is that it’s a 2-way medium…meaning we can actually communicate with each other. Feel free to comment on my posts, write on my wall on Facebook, tweet me, share things with me and I will do the same.
